Well, here we are... 2016, yes, I know I missed last week. Slack. I did do my best of 2015 post though!
So only two shoots in the last two weeks, and only one of those to share pics of here (still working on the other). Firstly it was the lovely Dallas Rayne in an AMAZING location (which I've been sworn to secrecy!). Quite a mix of outfits and backgrounds, but all glamour! It's been a while since I've shot straight up glam, a bit out of practice. Some nice shots there however. Nothing to show yet though. You'll just have to keep an eye on my various social media accounts (linked on the About page).
Wow, what a year. 91 shoots, across the 52 weeks. That's a whole lot of edits! A whole mix of stuff too, fashion, bikini, lingerie, beauty, art nude, glam nude, event... crazy. Also a couple of big shoots that have been in talks for years too (yep, looking directly at you Venus Starr!). New friends made, new models becoming regulars and put out a calendar (still available if you want one, just send me an email using the contact page) which ended up being a lot more difficult that I originally expected (however, the end result is totally worth it).
Final week of November and another calendar shoot done. That was meant to finish it off, but unfortunately for personal reasons, one of the girls shot for it wishes not to be in it anymore. Luckily enough, I have an appropriate model booked in next week for it... phew, lucky me!
Getting to the business end of November. I'm still not used to writing 2015...
So this week, zip, nothing, nada. I did have one planned, but unfortunately it fell through. The fortunate thing however is I did manage to clear out my edit queue. It's crazy seeing 0 in my quick collection (where I store my queue in Lightroom). All prepared for the next couple of weeks.
I did put out a casting call for a photo book I'm putting together. Having a bit of fun throwing pics together. If you know of anyone that may want to get involved, get them to send me an email email@example.com
Photo of the week had a clear standout this week, my throwback Thursday pic of the beautiful Kellie. Still really happy with this set.
Yep, a slow week this week with only the one shoot. Quite happy with the results of that though. Shoot was for the calendar with a few other shots on the side, and at the last minute, we decided to use the shower.
A relatively new model in the lovely Cecilia Tan, but she did amazingly well. Better than some more experienced models in fact. Happy to jump right in the deep end with artistic nudes, and absolutely nailed it! Lighting wise, a single light with a smallish reflector attached (18cm) with a grid to give the narrow spotlight effect.
The rest of the week consisted of editing, including a whole heap from last week's shoot with the beautiful Dracovinia. Some of my favourite shots, however, the plan is to submit them to a magazine so I can't show them which is absolutely killing me!
Photo of the week this week, like every week I post her, goes to the beautiful Hylia Suicide, yep, her butt wins the week. No subtlety there at all!
After a missed update last week due to personal issues, back this week with a double update!
Ok, so I'll start all the way back in October, when I worked with the always lovely Miss Phoenix. She's had this Cleopatra milk bath shoot in her head for quite a while, and finally we shot it together at one of her friend's places who had an absolutely AMAZING bath. Lighting wise was a large octabox above the bath with a smaller light in the doorway to the room to provide a bit of fill light. Quite happy with the look this gave.
A bit of a behind the scenes clip was shot too...
Photo of the week for that week ended up being the stunning Electra Jean wearing a Z-ENTiTY Clothing mask (and makeup by Sierra Juliet). Shown the way it should be seen here, and not butchered with censorship on the Instagram version
This week was another quiet week, mainly due to the issues I mentioned at the start of this. So only the one shoot which was yesterday, but what an amazing shoot. It's become a bit of a tradition to do a photo shoot on my birthday, so this year was the always amazing and beautiful Dracovinia
The entire outdoor shoot was shot with natural light (very unusual for me to be down at the beach shooting without strobes!), and SOOOOO many photos I want to show, but alas, I'm planning on submitting them to a magazine. Fingers crossed there...
Photo of the week this week was the gorgeous Katarina Sin from our recent work together. Another natural light shot!
Coming up, tomorrow I'm shooting for my calendar (can't wait to show this off!) along with a bit of fetish stuff, so that should be a little different to my usual. Nothing much else booked in, but I'm sure something will come up!
Another week done and dusted, and getting to the business end of the year!
This week a couple of shoots. Firstly was with the amazingly cute Dahlia Black. Originally we planned a beach shoot but a couple of things ended up getting in the way of that, so instead we postponed that for the near future and shot a natural light grunge set. Pretty happy with how the shoot came out, and love playing with lens flare from the sun. In this pic, I actually toned down the flare in Capture One (bringing up the black point) and then reapplied it in Photoshop adding a slight amount of colour to it using a dark green to dark red gradient set on the "Screen" blending mode.
And for my other shoot this week, it was the lovely Amber Ravine who I worked with last year. Time to get down to the beach on an absolutely amazing afternoon to get some great results. The standout shots for me were the silhouette ones right on sunset, but we did do quite a number of other shots too.
Photo of the week time, and a VERY close win to Katarina Sin over the Dahlia Black shot I shared above. More natural light with this one, and no need to censor for a change!
Another quiet week this week due to model illness. Ahh well, it happens. Nothing much to actually report beyond a couple of videos being reported and taken down on YouTube (I still don't understand why, they're within the Community Guidelines as I read them - and as I write this, my appeal has gone through successfully and they have been allowed again, but age restricted). Beyond that I did a bit of a animation that was fun. I was hoping to have another one complete for tonight, but alas, rendering time has meant that will finish too late.
On the technical side, I did the photo edit in Photoshop, the smoke effect & composite in Blackmagic Fusion, then the looping was done back in Photoshop again and output as a GIF file.
Photo of the week time. This week, the amazing Electra Jean comes in with the awesome mask provided by Z-ENTiTY clothing (you really owe it to yourself to check out their stuff!). Great makeup by Sierra Juliet, and as usual, uncensored here.
Coming up, tomorrow I'm working with the AMAZING Dahlia Black who I've wanted to photograph for a very long time. A couple of others planned too, so hopefully there'll be more to report than this week!
Yep, another late post, but due to photographing the always amazing and absolutely stunning Dracovinia! But more on that in a bit.
This week started off with a shoot I've been wanting to do for a while. Working with the beautiful Electra Jean. Even better was the fact that I managed to make a contact at the recent Fetish Expo in the lovely lady behind Z-ENTiTY Clothing who supplied some masks for us to play with. Also a big thanks to Sierra Juliet for doing the makeup for this shoot.
Next up, yep, my most shot model for the year, the always amazing Katarina Sin. Every time I work with this lady, she gets better and better. I'm very lucky to have her work with me so often and someone I can call a friend. I also had the beautiful Phoebe Clare helping out on the shoot but alas, didn't get in front of the camera. A bit of natural light for this pic (along with a number of others) then finishing up in my studio under the big lights.
Finally tonight as stated at the start, the stunning Dracovinia. Only the second time we've worked together, but damn we always nail it. So very easy to work with. A bit of variety in this shoot, but for now, the one pic will have to do you.
As for the photo of the week, you're in for a treat. One clear winner, and it's from Monday's shoot with Katarina Sin, so an extra peek at the shoot! I'm still undecided on the cropping of this. I have the close up 8x10 crop here, but it also looks great in a landscape format with lots of negative space.
As an extra bonus, I've compiled a few of my recent shoots into a video, which also features music from a friend of mine with his old band Stompbox (who since have moved on to bigger and better things).
As for the next week, not a lot booked in YET, but like this week, I'm sure that'll change very quickly!
A late night update this week, but alas, not much to report. A very quiet week with no shoots which is a change, but mainly due to family illness. Ahhh well, at least it let me cut down my edit queue significantly.
So straight into the photo of the week, and WOW, what a close week again. Could have easily gone three ways, so I'll share all three here!
In third place, we have the AMAZING Venus Starr
Second and missing out by only two likes, the beautiful Faye Fatale
And winning this week's photo of the week, as she often does, it's the lovely Hylia Suicide! Posted here in un-butchered as I don't have to follow Instagram/Facebook rules and hide art.
Last weekly update for September... wait, what? When did it get so late in the year?!?! Not as busy this week, but OMG! Quite epic.
Saturday was something a bit different for me, event photography. Not something I usually do. In this case it was mainly catwalk stuff at Oz Kinkfest 2015. As I knew quite a number of the models walking, I thought it'd be great to go along and get photos. I've also wanted to get along to watch Venus Starr perform her show (which was AMAZING!). I figured that one set of memory cards would be enough, thinking I'd only half fill them. Nope, very wrong about that. Filled them totally and wish I had another set with me. Ahhh well, next time. I did however manage to photograph the entire fashion parade. Along with a few extras.
Some great performances, and maybe it's because I'm friends with her, but the stand out performance for me was the lovely Kitessa playing the part of an insane woman (then again, it may not be too much of a stretch for her! :P )
My only regular shoot this week was with the absolutely lovely and amazing Venus Starr! A shoot involving Vodka, Lube and a busted zipper, yup, sounds like an interesting evening!
We've been speaking for years about shooting together when she was over here from NZ, and after a near miss shooting a few years ago, we finally got together for our shoot. Just in my tiny studio, but boy is she amazing. Right from our first meeting we got along really well too, quite a few laughs and a whole lotta fun. Both of us have improved in the time since our almost shoot, and I think the time has been worth the wait.
This brings us to the photo of the week. A very close battle concluding today. Between Kellie and Venus, with Venus winning by a single like. Very significant given both photos had around twice as many likes as I normally get.
Originally an outtake, but when we both looked on the back of the camera, we both liked it. Instagram link here.
As a special bonus due to the close battle, the uncensored version of the beautiful Kellie.
No video this week, however footage has been taken of this shoot and my shoot last week with Lex Morgull.
Coming up, I currently have Sunday booked, but nothing else yet, but hopefully like this week more will come up.
Wow! What a full on week! Absolutely flat out, and now I have a very scary queue of photos to edit! But what an awesome week.
This week we started with the always amazing and beautiful Anita on Saturday morning. A nice quick fitness shoot in her apartment. Always a great time with her.
Following that, a model I haven't worked with for many years and unfortunately I was never able to publish those myself (was a commisioned shoot), the lovely Sarah Ann. Great to catch up.
Sunday was just as epic, starting with a catch up with the amazing Miss Phoenix for a couple of hours. After our catchup, the lovely Kellie arrived and the three of us headed North into the Cobaw state forest. A nice casual hour and a quarter drive! Totally worth it though which I hope you agree with!
Back to the day job on Monday for a breather, then in the evening, the stunning Kylie! Making a huge trek to my place which I'm very grateful for, shooting for a project I'm working on, then a few other sets for fun while here, we came up with this doozy.
A couple of days rest, and a video to put together showing these shoots plus last week's one with the lovely Jaskola. To get these when I publish them, head on over to YouTube and subscribe to my channel! This video, while censored, probably isn't really safe for work/public viewing...
Following that last night was Stacey who happened to have her birthday yesterday too... HAPPY BIRTHDAY STACEY!!!! And decided to strip down to her birthday suit in the name of art. Lots of guitars still to be shown, but something that's really quite nice was the first edited photo.
Rounding out the week, today was a bit different to my usual, but also the very beautiful Lex Morgull who is in Melbourne right now for the Suicide Girls shootfest and ball. My gain! I've known Lex online for a couple of years now, so it's great to finally meet in person.
Speaking of Suicide Girls, this week's photo of the week winner (in a special double photo week). Once again, the always amazing Hylia Suicide from our shoot a couple of weeks ago. She is definitely one of the most popular models on my Instagram feed.
Coming up next week, quite a bit less. Nothing really booked in currently as I had to reschedule the one I had planned due to family commitments. I am however hoping to get along and photograph the OZ Kink Fest runway tomorrow. There should be a lot of familiar faces to viewers of this site.
Another week flies on by, and I seem to just keep getting busier!
Unfortunately no video this week by request of the models. Back again with a video next week however.
Saturday was spent with the lovely Ellie who I worked with earlier in the year. Such a fun bubbly girl and I really enjoyed our shoot together. This time, for six hours. A mix of hotel room, beach and bath. Quite happy with these as is Ellie, which is always great to hear.
Sunday, once again the lovely Hylia Suicide. Another fun shoot with some great graffiti stuff along with shooting in the studio. Followed up with a late lunch at Misty's Diner, a first for Hylia, who absolutely loved it. Maybe a new post shoot tradition?
This brings us to the photo of the week, and yep, it's the lovely Hylia Suicide, followed very closely by Ellie relaxing in the bath. Uncensored version in this post, but unfortunately I had to hide a little bit of butt due to Facebook's rules on nudity.
Coming up next week, LOTS of shoots. Tonight I have just finished with the amazing Jaskola, tomorrow two shoots, one with the ever popular Anita, and another with Sarah Ann who I haven't worked with for YEARS! Sunday the beautiful Kellie, Monday is the always stunning Kylie and finishing up (so far) on Thursday with Stacey (rescheduled from this week) who puts on a great performance for me! *phew*
Another week passes on by, but once again, it features VIDEO!
This week was filled with three shoots. Firstly on Saturday the always lovely Memphis Black. We haven't worked together since early in the year, so it was nice to get a shoot happening. A mix of natural light and strobe, colour and B&W we got plenty of variety there.
Next was the always amazing Katarina Sin (I feel like I mentioned her quite recently!) and a model I haven't worked with before Jaskola. Quite the trek up Mount Donna Buang involving a fallen tree over the road and a locked gate. We didn't get the the spot we actually originally planned, however, we did find a really nice spot to shoot. Unfortunately for the models, it was only three degrees in temperature, and they weren't wearing anything...
Finally back into the studio, and it was the stunning Faye Fatale in our first shoot together for about two years! Hopefully not as long before the next one! What an absolutely funny girl too, I cut a couple of her mannerisms into the video (keep an eye out for the chicken dance). Such a fun shoot, started quite late, finished even later, but hey, worth every second of it!
Photo of the week time. Another tight week, but this time Katarina Sin coming out on top. Special bonus here is you get to see the uncensored version that isn't allowed on Instagram!
A great weekend just gone, and another one coming up!
To start with, last Saturday, a great catchup and shoot with the always amazing Natalie. It's been so long since we worked together! In the studio, in the backyard and in the bath, yep, a bit of variety there.
Next up was the always beautiful Phoebe, and a last minute addition of the stunning Katarina Sin! Originally the shoot was planned to be at a park, but being such an amazing day, we changed out mind and headed Half Moon Bay to enjoy the beach! Ended up being quite a bit more busy than I planned. I guess others had the same idea! Still, we managed to find a nice quiet area and got some amazing photos!
Something a bit new this week too. With a new toy in hand (a second hand Panasonic GH2), I decided to dabble in a bit of video. Below is what I came up with. Pretty happy for a first effort. Yep, I stuffed up the lighting on the first section with Natalie, but the rest looks fine to me. I'll work on that. Two hours of work for a four minute video... in my defence, I was also learning how to use Davinci Resolve at the same time. One cool feature I have found is object tracking. I used it to censor (yeah, sorry about that) the section where Phoebe decides to have some fun with the camera ;-)
Photo of the week was a close battle, with only nine likes separating the first four pics, and only another six to the other pic. But yes, I knew this would happen, the lovely Vicky Aisha winning another Photo Of The Week!
Didn't I just write one of these recently? Has a week gone by already?!?!
Just the two shoots this week, but wow, what shoots they were! Both at home in my studio (also just outside of it technically for one set) once again playing with the crazy small space!
Firstly on Saturday we had the beautiful Sami Sparrow in her very first full art nude photo shoot. She absolutely rocked it, and if she was nervous, I definitely didn't see it. So confident! The first edit I have done for this shoot (what I consider the "killer" shot) was shot in my hallway just outside the studio with a light in the bathroom (just slightly to her left so her shadow side was towards the camera) and another down the end of the hallway to light up the wall. Black and White really makes this pop I think, really making the jacket and harness the feature of the image. I may have to play more with this location.
Monday was another day with the always awesome Vicky Aisha. Knocking out a few sets quite quickly including some of her amazing contortion. It has been quite funny showing this photo to people as it freaks them out a bit!
One of the other looks from the shoot with Vicky ended up being the most popular photo this week (like it's a surprise whenever Vicky ends up being the photo of the week). It's a shot I had in my head and came out exactly as I imagined it would. Vicky's back muscles and shadows are an amazing combination.
Coming up next week, so far I have another two shoots booked in. Tomorrow I'm shooting with the amazing Natalie! It's been forever since we've worked together! Sunday, it's the rescheduled shoot with the beautiful Phoebe. I'm hoping to have a bit of a play with video on these. I may even blog the video stuff separately so you can all follow my progress as I learn that medium also. Initially I'll just be looking at setting a camera up on a tripod to shoot some behind the scenes. We'll see where it goes from there!
